From this point forward, ULMA Board of Directors Kevin Coyne, Danny Lorton, and Sam Stoecklin have decided to step aside and resign from ULMA. The directors are in the process of turning over operations of ULMA to Ernie Leftwich and Missy Miller-Holman. Ernie and Missy are well-known in the racing community for their involvement with MLRA.

The directors agree this decision is in the best interest of ULMA for future growth and potential. As of now, nothing is changing other than new operations and management of ULMA and the directors have been informed that Ernie and Missy plan on keeping the current affiliated tracks and rules as they are now with some updates forthcoming. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for a future announcement regarding this impending change. The ULMA directors are confident in Ernie and Missy’s abilities and with their connections and familiarity of racing and the racing industry believe ULMA is in very capable hands going forward.

Kevin, Danny, and Sam wish to thank all tracks over the last 11 years that hosted ULMA events and the promoters and track owners for their support. The Directors also wish to thank Gary and Jan Hubert of Lucas Cattle Company for their support, ULMA simply would have not been able to continue without Gary and Jan’s support.

Additionally, the directors would like to thank and wish all the race teams the best of luck in their future race programs. The directors wish to thank the media outlets over the years for covering ULMA events and the fans who cheered on the drivers for the last dozen years.

The Directors thank the late Tony Wineland for his service over the years, the 2017 race season is dedicated to Tony’s memory. Directors also would like to thank Russell Kueffer for his knowledge and support over the years as a Director. In addition, the Directors also thank Jerry Lee Henson, Walt Imhoff, and John Farmer for their service as directors in the formation years.

Over the years, the ULMA volunteer directors oversaw 492 total events. Each of the Directors plan to stay involved in racing in some capacity but felt it was time for their volunteerism to come to an end after 11 years, which ushers in part two in the chapter of ULMA, which was formed in the fall of 2006.

ULMA also sincerely thanks Hoosier Tire Midwest, Fischer Body Shop, RacinDirt.com, FastShafts, Hooker Harness, Dynamic Drivelines, Melloway Fast Wraps, Radical Race Gear, KRC Racing, and RacingJunk.com, the official motorsports classifieds of ULMA.
