July 13, 2017 - Last weekend’s Lucas Cattle Company ULMA action led to a fourth win of the year for defending ULMA Champion Dustin Hodges as he took the checkers at Callaway Raceways on Friday and a first victory of the year for Todd Schute of Des Moines, Iowa as he grabbed the checkers at Lucas Oil Speedway.

On Friday at Callaway Raceway Todd McCoin and Dustin Hodges began the race on row one with Dylan Hoover and current ULMA point’s leader Cody Holtkamp just behind. As he achieved three times before, Hodges prevailed in the main event with Hoover finishing second ahead of Holtkamp, Chris Cox, and McCoin.

This Friday, July 14th marks the final race of the year at the Raceway as drivers have just one more chance to earn championship points at Callaway Raceways in Fulton, Missouri. Adult admission $14, Seniors $13, and 7 thru 12 $5. Pit Passes $25. Drivers pit passes $25 plus $5 for fire and safety. For complete racing information visit www.callawayraceways.com.

On Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, a solid field of cars signed in for racing and when the last checkered flags flew over the Late Models it was Todd Shute who prevailed over last year’s track champion, Aaron Marrant. Marrant led the first two-thirds distance before Shute made his move to lead the final portion of the race. Previous feature winner Johnny Fennewald of Appleton City finished third with Jon Sheets fourth and Dylan Hoover fifth.

ULMA Late Model drivers have Saturday off this week as the track prepares for the open late models and the Diamond Nationals. ULMA racing resumes at Lucas Oil Speedway Saturday, July 22nd. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:35. Saturday's admission prices are: Adults (16 and up) $12, Seniors (62 and up) $9, Youth (ages 6-15) $5, All Veterans and Active Military FREE with ID, Kids (5 and under) Free. Family Pass $25. The second night of the RacinDirt.com Double-Down Showdown has been rescheduled to finish up on Friday, July 21st at Lakeside Speedway. The overall top three positions in the mini-points battle will receive $250 for first, second will earn $150, and third will go away with an extra $100. ULMA and Lake Ozark Speedway recently announced an agreement for ULMA-sanctioned events to be held at the speedway during the second half of the year. For complete schedule information visit the track’s website at www.lakeozarkspeedway.net for race dates. The first ULMA-sanctioned date at the rack falls on Saturday, August 5th.
