January 29, 2017 - For the sixth year running, Lucas Cattle Company returns as title sponsor for the United Late Model Association (ULMA). Each year the partnership has grown stronger with Gary and Jan Hubert and ULMA could not be prouder to be a part of the Lucas family once again this season. During the off-season, Hubert offered to host the end-of-year championship banquet on the Cattle Company grounds and therefore, ULMA is proud to announce Saturday, October 28, 2017, as the banquet date. As the season progresses, ULMA will release detailed information regarding the banquet.

The 2017 season marks the eleventh year for ULMA and begins April 7th at Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri and eventually ends on September 30th at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri. There are currently 43 race dates on the schedule with 13 events at Lucas Oil Speedway, 11 at Callaway Raceway, eight at Randolph County Raceway, five at Lakeside Speedway, four Central Missouri Speedway events, and two appearances at I-35 Speedway.

Several recent inquiries regarding the wording used in the Chassis Suspension and Shocks section of the 2017 ULMA competition rules has led ULMA to edit the following section. Under letter I, number 2 the paragraph now reads: “Left rear must have one shock behind the axle tube and may have one traction (dummy) shock on the front side or top of axle tube. Must mount vertically to the birdcage or clamp bracket.” The revision was the addition of the words “or top” in the second-to-last sentence.

Drivers have a few days left to save $25 on their 2017 ULMA license. Simply point your web browser to www.ulmaracing.com and print off and send in the form prior to the March 1st cutoff. After the cut-off date, the fee increases to $100 for the remainder of the year. All participating tracks will require a ULMA license or a temp fee to compete throughout the year. Several drivers recently registered at the recent racer’s auction or sent in their form for the year, the list includes: former champion Jon Melloway, Todd McCoin, Bob Cummings, Rick Kimberling, Tommy Cordray, Wesley Briggs, Dave Miller, Ashlee Lancaster, and Walt Imhoff.

Speaking of former champion, Jon Melloway, ULMA is pleased to announce a new business partnership with Melloway Fast Wraps LLC, owned by ULMA drivers and Brothers Jon and David Melloway. Melloway Fast Wraps LLC specializes in vehicle wraps, banners, race-car wraps, decals, signs, business signs, and business cards. ULMA has been working very closely with the promoter of the planned Missouri State Fair races and is hopeful it will be on the program as a support class in August to help close out the fair at the ‘Historic Half Mile’ in Sedalia, Missouri.
