July 26, 2017 - Lucas Cattle Company ULMA drivers competed at Lucas Oil Speedway last Saturday in near record heat and in the end fans were treated to one of the best main events of the season as Todd Shute of Des Moines, Iowa claimed his second-straight win at the track in Wheatland, Missouri.

As one observer stated, Saturday night the ULMA Late Models put on the best and cleanest feature of the season as the race went green to checkered for the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win event. In fact, it was such a great race that Speedway Management told the drivers after the feature that each participant will receive a free crew member pit pass on their next visit for the outstanding race. The drivers proved Saturday night why they are the premier weekly class.

Highlights from the recent Lucas Oil Speedway press release regarding the event state that, “Shute jumped to an early race lead before Fennewald moved to the front by lap four. Shute bobbled a bit down the back stretch but regained his composure and regained the lead from Fennewald halfway through the event. Chris Cox finished in third behind Shute and Fennewald while Aaron Poe came away in fourth with Daniel Jessen finishing in fifth.

ULMA will support the ASCS National Sprint Car tour during this event. The race will pay $700 to win and $100 to start the main event. This is a rare and distinguished opportunity for ULMA drivers to compete at and add their name to the storied list of drivers that have turned laps at the ‘Historic Half-Mile’ in Sedalia, Missouri.
