May 31, 2017 - Richmond, Missouri’s Aaron Marrant claimed his second ULMA win of the year last Friday at Kansas City’s Lakeside Speedway. With the victory, Marrant becomes the second repeat winner this year in the first eight races of the season.

Larry Ferris and Larry Clawson led the the field to the green flag at Lakeside with Ferris pacing the early laps. Meanwhile, seventh-starting Marrant began his climb towards the front stalking Ferris for the lead and eventually moving to the front to claim the win. Ferris finished in second with Shad Baddder third, Dustin Hodges fourth, and Tommy Cordary fifth. Just 11 drivers participated in the event. In all actuality, last weekend should have been the fifteenth and sixteenth events of the year; however, Mother Nature has dealt drivers eight rainouts or canceled events because of weather in one way or another. Last weekend, Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) canceled the Sunday program, which was to carry ULMA Late Models, because of a rain-out the previous night for their annual Memorial Weekend Special. ULMA drivers are scheduled to return to action at Callaway Raceways in Fulton, Missouri on Friday night for the track’s weekly racing program. On Friday, gates Open at 5, drivers meeting 6:45, hot laps at 7, and racing begins at 7:30. Fischer Auto Body is the official presenter of all ULMA events at Callaway this season. Lucas Oil Speedway and its staff will enjoy a week off this Saturday after another successful Show-Me 100 weekend. ULMA drivers will return to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, June 10th to resume the weekly racing series championship. Visit for complete details.

ULMA drivers have the opportunity to earn starts and points this Saturday at I-35 Speedway north of Kansas City in Winston, Missouri. Speedway officials have informed ULMA that if weather becomes a factor on Saturday and the program has to be canceled, that the track will run on Sunday evening with one hour earlier start times. David Melloway drove to the inaugural victory during last year’s lone appearance at the track.

On Saturday at I-35 Speedway, pit gates are set to open at 4:30 with grandstands to follow at 5. Driver’s meeting takes place at 6 with hot laps at 6:30, and racing at 7. From Kansas City, head north on I-35 to the Winston exit and the track is just a short drive to the east. The track address is 13141 MO-6, Winston, Missouri.
